April -- June 2017
He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life, saith the Lord.
Jesus said unto the multitude of the Jews, and to the chief priests: he hat is of God heareth God's words; ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
In the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying: if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.
Deliver me, O Lord, and set me be side thee; and I care not who lifteth his hand against me.
My time is not yet come, but your time is alway ready.
O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast defended my life, O Lord my God.
My sheep hear my voice, and I the Lord both know them, and they follow me.
The Angel Gabriel descended to Zacharias, and said unto him: thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John; and many shall rejoice at his birth; for he shall go before the face of the Lord, to prepare his ways. [Benedictus Antiphon, Archangel Gabriel, March 24/April 6]
The Master saith, my time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at thy house with my disciples.
How shall this be, O Angel of God, seeing I know not a man? Hearken, O Virgin Mary: the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee. [Benedictus Antiphon, Annunciation, March 25/April 7]
Now the feast day of the Jews drew nigh; and the chief priests sought how they might kill Jesus, but they feared the people.
O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? Testify against me.
O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world began.
Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul.
The multitudes which came together for the feast day cried unto the Lord: blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver, the price that I was prised at of them.
Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come, having loved his own, he loved them unto the end.
Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch with me one hour?
Great and Holy Thursday
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying: whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; hold him fast.
Great and Holy Friday
Said the one thief to the other, we indeed receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man, what has he done? Remember me, O Lord, when thou comest into thy kingdom.
O death, I will be thy plagues: O grave, I will be thy destruction.
A BLESSED PASCHA / EASTER TO ALL!
Christ is risen from the dead;
Jesus himself drew near to his disciples in the way, and went with them: but their eyes were holden that they should not know him: and he rebuked them, saying, O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, alleluia.
Jesus stood in the midst of his disciples and said unto them, peace be unto you, alleluia, alleluia.
Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find, alleluia.
Mary stood at the sepulchre weeping, and seeth two Angels in white, sitting, and the napkin that was about the head of Jesus, alleluia.
The eleven disciples, when they saw the Lord in Galilee, worshipped him, alleluia.
They ran both together, and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre, alleluia.
